Local Transport: Getting to the Congress Venue 

Jakarta has a wide range of transportation options available from Soekarno Hatta International Airport to the city centre. Buses are operated by a good number of private operators and by the state-owned PPD bus company. Mayasari and Patas AC buses are air-conditioned and flat fares are charged and are posted by the entrance door. Three-wheeled, two-seats scooter taxis, locally known as "bajaj", and Bemo minibuses also operate on fixed routes throughout Jakarta, as do Mikrolet or Angkot minibuses.

The 55^th ISOCARP World Planning Congress will take place in two locations in the island of Java, Indonesia: Jakarta and Bogor. The main congress venue is Hotel Borobudur in Jakarta (venue 1) where all activities from 10-13 September 2019 will take place. The other location is Bogor (IPB) International Convention Center (venue 2) where the Opening Ceremony and Welcoming Reception for all the delegates on the first day of the Congress, 9 September, will be held. Shuttle buses will be arranged to move delegates between the two venues.

Delegates who will be joining the Technical Tours on 9 September 2019, from 8:30-11:00, in Jakarta will proceed immediately after the tours to Bogor (IPB) International Convention Center (venue 2). For those who will NOT be joining the technical tours, shuttle buses will be available to carry delegates from Hotel Borobudur to Bogor International Convention Center.

3. Alight at Gambir Railway Station and walk 500 meters towards Jalan Pejambon until you reach Hotel Borobudur.

Rail Link Airport Train

Ticket fare 70,000 IDR or 5.10 USD (60 min)

1. Upon arrival at the airport, take the Skytrain and alight at the Rail Link Airport Train station.
2. Buy a ticket through a vending machine, then choose BNI City Station as destination. You can only use debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Amex) as all transactions are cashless.    • Alight at Gambir Station then walk towards Jalan Pejambon for 700 meters until you reach Hotel Borobudur.

Hotel Borobudur to Bogor (IPB) International Convention Center (9 September 2019)

A complimentary shuttle service will be provided to transport all registered Congress delegates to and from Hotel Borobudur and Bogor (IPB) International Convention Center during the first day of the congress. There are two options available:

1. Technical tours participants: Delegates who will be joining the technical tours from 8:30 to 11:00 must take the designated shuttle buses from Hotel Borobudur, which will bring them to each Technical Tour drop-off point. Right after the tours, shuttle buses will proceed directly to Bogor (IPB) International Convention Center, where the opening ceremony, opening plenary, and welcoming reception will be held. There will be no stopovers at Hotel Borobudur after the tours. Shuttles will return delegates to Hotel Borobudur at 20:30, after the scheduled events. 
2. Technical tours NON-participants: Delegates who will NOT be joining the technical tours can take a shuttle from Hotel Borobudur to Bogor (IPB) International Convention Center. Vehicles will be clearly marked and will be available based on the schedule below. In case of any changes, please check with the front desk or concierge for a schedule of departures. Shuttles will return delegates to Hotel Borobudur at 20:30, after the scheduled events.

We encourage all delegates to take advantage of the tailored shuttle bus services from Hotel Borobudur to BICC and vice versa. Delegates who will not be able to avail of this service but wish to attend the opening events at the BICC will have to arrange their own transport via the concierge services of Hotel Borobudur or their own hotel.

Airport Welcome Desk

Technical Tours

Three technical tours are available to all registered congress delegates and their accompanying persons:  1. Kota Tua (old town), 2. TOD Dukuh Atas Interchange, and 3. Akuarium Village. The descriptions of the technical tours can be found here.

Registration

The registration for the technical tours opens on 31 August 2019. To register, delegates must first log in to their congress account and visit the 'International Tickets' page. Then, click the number of attendees and select one of the three tours available. Tours are included in the congress fees but slots are subject to availability and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.  

Note: All three tours are taking place at the same time; therefore, an attendee must select only one of the tour options.

Meet-up Point

Tour participants are requested to gather at the Ballroom Lobby of Hotel Borobudur at 8:30. Afterwards, the participants will be ushered to the designated buses of each tour.  

Dress Code

Delegates are advised to wear business casual or business formal, as the shuttles will proceed immediately after the tours to Bogor (IPB) International Convention Center for the afternoon opening events. There will be no stopovers at Hotel Borobudur after the tours.

About the Congress

The congress starts at 9:00 every day, except Monday. The programme schedule is published online and available in the brochure that will be distributed to all delegates during the registration. You may also download the congress app to view the schedule (available for Android and iOS). 

Speakers may check their presentation schedules at the "My schedule" and "Sessions I am speaking at" tabs on the account Dashboard. Similarly, attendees will be able add sessions to their schedule using the same Dashboard menu tabs. We highly recommend delegates to read the abstracts before going to the congress to plan your day.

Venue 1 – Hotel Borobudur (Main Congress Venue), 10-13 September 2019

Hotel Borobudur Jakarta is the main venue of the congress. All parallel sessions, special sessions, side events, and the rest of the plenary sessions will be held here. The congress function rooms are distributed as follows:

Venue 2 – Bogor (IPB) International Convention Center, 9 September 2019

The first day of the congress will be held at Bogor International Convention Center. The opening ceremony and the opening plenary will be held at the Main Function hall of the Convention Center. Meanwhile, the Welcoming Dinner Reception for all delegates will be held at Bogor City Hall, about 7 minutes by shuttle bus from the Bogor International Convention Center.

Registration

Congress Registration opens on Sunday, 8 September 2019, at Hotel Borobudur from 12:00 to 21:00 and will be available throughout the congress period. Registration will also be available at the Bogor International Convention Center but ONLY on Monday afternoon, 9 September 2019. 

**Registration will be at Hotel Borobudur except Monday, 10:30-18:00, 9 September (BICC)   

Please register and collect your congress materials and badge at our Registration desks by the Ballroom entrance of Hotel Borobudur. Do not forget to bring your ticket, either printed or (preferably) on your phone. (We may ask for an ID to confirm it's your ticket).

Note: If you have registered and collected your badge and congress materials on the first day at Bogor International Convention Center, you do NOT need to register again at Hotel Borobudur. Please wear your badge visibly and at all times during the congress.

Catering

Coffee, tea, and water are available throughout the congress. Lunch will be served, from Tuesday to Thursday, 13:00-14:00, at the Flores Promenade of Hotel Borobudur. Lunch is also provided at the Bogor International Convention Center, 13:00-14:00, before the opening plenary starts.

Gala Dinner

All congress delegates are invited to join the Gala dinner on Thursday, 12 September 2019. The venue will be at Candi Bentar, Jalan Pantai Indah, Ancol, Jakarta Utara.

Dinner Reception

There will be a dinner reception on Monday, 9 September, at the Bogor City Hall (1 KM away from the Bogor International Convention Center). All congress delegates and accompanying persons are invited to attend this social event. Shuttle services will be provided.
